Tony  was born and raised in Bloemfontein, the heart of South Africa. He perused a career in Hospitality Management and studied at the CUT Hotel School where he had the opportunity to work at 5 star establishments such as the award-winning Saxon Boutique Hotel and Spa in Sandhurst as well as the iconic Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town. Although he enjoyed the hospitality industry, he fell in love with the events industry after being appointed in a senior management position at the 2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup. Tony’s next stop was Cape Town where he built up great experience in the field of events coordination.

Despite the bright lights and bustle of the big city, Bloem remained in his blood, and before long he was back in the City of Roses, all fired up and ready to do his own thing.

Tony started out on his own by planning events from his home, before long his “one-man-show” mushroomed into a large-scale lifestyle and events company ENVIE, which he now operates with the assistance of his talented team of creatives from his studio (THE ZAR LAB).

At ENVIE, Tony also does brand consulting for startup companies and small businesses, as well as marketing campaigns for corporates. Tony is also the creative director and partner of VIE Magazine, an online digital business magazine.

Always up for a new challenge, Tony enjoys looking for innovative ways to explore his creativity and sense of business and loves engaging with creatives and businesses locally and globally. He has also been invited to present at various conferences and lectures to share his thoughts and ideas on platforms such as the TEDx Talks, Startup Grind powered by Google for Entrepreneurs as well as lectures at the Business School, University of the Free State and his alma mater CUT Hotel School.

Although operating in what might seem as a glamorous industry, Tony remains grounded and enjoys traveling, a good cup of coffee and dining with friends.
